OK, let us take a time out from the ongoing ICC T20I World Cup cricket being played in Sri Lanka, and move to up north in China, where the China Open tennis for 2012 gets underway.
In the first round of matches, World no.2 Serbian Novak Djokovic will contest his Beijing opener on Tuesday against 123rd ranked German Michael Berrer.
This would be second time since Wimbledon 2008 that both the Serbian and the German are playing against each other. Djokovic beat Berrer in the first round of Wimbledon 2008 after losing his second set 7-5 2-6 6-3 6-0.
Djokovic has had bad times recently as he has not been able to win any major event since his australian Open earlier this year. He lost to Federer in Cincinnati and to Murray in US Open this year, but still clings on to his no.2 ranking, thanks to the absence of Nadal from the tennis scene.
Left handed Berrer has lost four of his last ten matches and may not pose any problem for the Serbian.
The match is scheduled for Tuesday, 2 October 2012 at 08:30 GMT.
