The French Open Queen, world no.3 Russian Maria Sharapova plays the quarterfinal of the US Open 2012 against 11th ranked French Marion Bartoli Tuesday afternoon at the Arthur Ashe stadium, New York USA.
Maria, though has not been able to make a mark after her French Open win, is looking forward to win her second Grand Slam and the last Grand Slam of the year. She lost to Serena Williams in Olympics, but seems determined to win here in USA. It is also her first time to be in the last eight, since she won the title six years ago.
The French has lost three of er last ten matches and has made up to the quarters beating P. Kvitova 1-6 6-2 6-0.
Maria has met Bartoli four times since Doha in 2005 and has won all four times - interestingly twice in quarters, once in semis and once in the third round.
The match is scheduled for Tuesday, 4 September 2012 at 16:30 GMT at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.
