World no.1 Roger Federer plays the last eight match or the quarterfinal against Tomas Berdych, the 7th ranked Czech Thursday night tonight.

In the fourth round, M Fish withdrew against Federer allowing the Swiss some rest for tonight's match. Berdych beat Almaqro 7-6(4) 6-4 6-1 to reach the quarters.

Both Federer and Berdych are not new to each other as having met for the first time in 2004 at Athens, they have played 15 times, with Federer having a winning edge of 11-5 over the Czech. They last met at the Madrid final earlier this year with Federer overpowering Berdych 3-6, 7-5, 7-5.

Obviusly, Federer is favourite for the match tonight.

The match is scheduled for Wednesday-Thursday night, 5-6 September 2012 at 00:30 GMT at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.
