The second semi final of the US Open gets played Saturday afternoon, just before the ladies Singles Final between Victoria Azarenka and Serena Williams at the Arthur Ashe stadium, New York.

The semi final is being played between world no.2 Novak Djokovic from Serbia and world no. 5 Swiss david Ferrer. Though Federer is out, there is still representation from Switzerland as Ferrer meets Djokovic.

The Serb and the Swiss are not new to each other as they have met 14 times since they first met at Bucharest in 2004. Of these 14 encounters, Djokovic has an edge of 9-5 over Ferrer. Djokovic las t beat Ferrer at Miami quarterfinals earlier this year 6-2, 7-6(1).
