Super Over at Dubai wins T20I series for Pakistan against Australia

Never ever in my life I have witnessed such an action packed, exciting and hair raising match than the one played between Pakistan and Australia tonight at Dubai.

The seond T20I match between Australia and Pakistan amid jam packed Dubai crowd commenced as any normal cricket match. Pakistan winning the toss elected to bat and played what an ordinary cricket match would look like. Pakistan scored 151 runs and gave a target of 152 for the Aussies to compete.

Even the Australins started to play the match like any ordinary match - but then when the match reached the last 2-3 overs, temeperatures, action and drama started to unfold. With Baily at the crease on his birthday, the score target came as close to 12 with nine balls remaining, which came down to 10 runs with six balls remaining, with Australians having lost six wickets. The last over came after lots of discussion from Pakistan's side and finally Razzaq was chosen to curtail the Australians.

And Razaaq struck deadly on the very first ball and Baily could not end the match to really celebrate his birthday. Then score moved one by one till Cummins hit a powerful six to level the score with one ball remaining. While it seemed likely for  Cummins to complete a single, the last ball saw Cummins falling prey to Razzaq.

With the match tied, the deceison was taken for a super six over. This further raised the hype and temeprature among the crowd and everyone seemed tense and praying for Pakistan victory as majority of the crowd at Dubail International Stadium consisted of Pakistani expatriates working in Dubai.

The Super Over itself was hair raising. Australia chose Warner and Watson to face Pakistan's Umer Gul to bring a victory for the Aussies. The Australian total started with singles and twos till Warner hit a four on the fourth ball - but on the fifth ball, a wide gave another breather for the Australians. And on the next ball, Warner was out with a total of 9. Baily on the sixth ball added two more to give a target of 12 to Pakistan.

Pakistan chose Umar Akmal and Razzaq to bat and the Australia chose Cummins to bowl. The first ball ended in a dot, while on second Akmal hit a four. On the fourth ball, Razzaq hit another four to bring total to 9. Fifth ball brought another run and total went to 10. One ball and two runs needed. The sicth ball was a wide, equalizing the total. And the extra sixth ball was exciting as Umar Akmal facing Cummins ran to comeplete a single with his full speed to win the match for Pakistan.

The crowd busrt into applause for Pakistan cricket team which not only won the match, but also the 3 match T20I series 2-0 against Australia.

Saeed Ajmal was given man of the match for his two superb wickets.

Both teams deserved commendation as each ball was played well which provided a chance for the crowd a treat to watch for. It was an amazing and fantastic match and as I said before, it was the most absorbing match I had ever watched.
