Olympics Medals Race - USA tops the Medal Table

Yesterday, USA had inched very closer to China, threatening its table top position - and today it really has and replaced China at the top, sending China down a notch to no.2 as can be seen from the chart below:

There is one more contender moving up very fast and that is GB, the hosts. They have moved up a notch and sending the French a notch down  and occupy the no.4 position below South Korea. From 5 golds and 15 medals in total yesterday, GB is now at fourth position with 8 golds and total 22 medals. The presence of GB just a gold less, should worry the South Koreans now.

As for the Russians, they seem to be playing hide and seek with Kazakhstan - they are now back to their old 10th position while Kazakhs take the no.9 slot.
